The following matches were played on the local green on Saturday:— ORDINARY GAMES. Rev. McFarland, R. J. Parry, and J. Hammond (skip) 24, beat T. Wells, Dr. Coates, and J. Lundon (skip! 16. G. Robertson and Mackie (Remuera) (skip) 27, beat W. Jones (Rotorua) and A. White (skip) 13. CHALLENGE PAIRS. A. J. Edmunds and W. Wright (skip), (handicap 8), 20, defeated M. Butler and H. Davy (sk) 18. , HANDICAP SINGLES. A. Wallace (handicap 2) 24, beat W. Earl 13. TOURNAMENT. Result of niatches played in Handicap Singles tournament on New Year’s Day : Section No. I—J. Rivers 2, H. Davy 2, R. Fisher 2, J. Ferguson 2. Davy and Ferguson 1 game to play. Section No. 2—Robertson 4, Earl 2, White 1, Wallace 1, Wright 1, Section No. 3—Lundon 3, Carr 3, Henderson 2, Clark 1. Carr and Lundon play off to decide the winner of this section. Section No. 4—O’Toole 4, Wells 2, Hammond 1, Edmunds 1, H. Ferguson 1. The semi-final and final will be played at as early a date as possible. The committee and players wish to specially thank those members and nonmembers who scored for the players during the day, and by so doing added very materially to the pleasure of the games.
