NINE MEN DROWNED

Brussels, March -1

While 530 men were at work in the Strepy mine today the workings were Hooded.

The water rose rapidly, but the cages were able to lift all but nine cut of the mine before the workings filled up. These men, who were working in a distant part of the mine, were cut off and drowned.
