OBITUARY
MR W. A. OLIVER
We regret to announce the death of Mr W. A. Oliver, Wartle, Tamahere, which occurred, after a brief illness, at midnight. .Mr Oliver, who was in the prime of life, was suddenly overtaken by illness on last Sunday week, after a trip to Taupiri, pneumonia supervening. Serious symptoms soon developed, and, despite all possible medical attention, he passed away last night. The deceased came from Wairarapa to Waikato about nine years ago, and purchased the Wartle estate, most of which has recently been disposed of, he, however, retaining the homestead as a residence. Mr Oliver was of the best type of settler, a good neighbour, a keen farmer, and a straight-dealing, honourable business man. He took an active interest in all matters pertaining to agriculture, and was a leading member of both the Waikato A. and I'. and Winter Show Associations. He is survived by his wife and a family of eleven children, to whom the deepest sympathy will be extended. The funeral will leave his late residence at '& o'clock tomorrow for the Tamahere cemetery.
