WAIKATO PRESBYTERY

The Waikato Presbtyory met in St. Andrew’s Church, Hamilton, yesterday. The moderator, of Te Awamutu, having reported that Rev. D. J. A. j Shaw, of Lmnsden, had decided to accept the call to that charge, his in- j duction was fixed for the last week in ' June. It was agreed that a request from 1 Te Awamutu fur leave to borrow £SOO be approved and forwarded to the church trustees, A request from the committee at Otorobanga for leave to sell a small section, and also to borrow sulfieiont for a hull and manse was also approved and forwarded to the church 1 trustees.

The following motion, moved by Rev. W. C. Blair, and, seconded by the Rev. W. J. Gow, was carried unanimously“ That the Waikato Presbytery expresses its full sympathy wth the work and object of the Bible in State Schools League.” The Presbytery came to the following finding on the charges brought by Mr R. P. De Kidder, of Te Awamutu, against the Rev. W. Woollass:--“The Presbytery having investigated most carefully and most minutely the charges made by Mr R. F. Do Ridder against the Rev. W. Woollass has come to the conclusion that not only have the charges not been proven; but also that there is nut the slightest evidence To justify the

same. It reiterates its unabated confidence in bis honour and integrity, both as a Christian and as a man. It commends him for his work in the cause of Christ for the past five years, rendered under the most try ing difficulties conceivable. It prays that by the Grace of God he may be able to live near to the heart of bis loving Saviour, and it assures him of its sympathy in whatever steps be mu; take. ”

The Presbytery then adjourned to meet again on the first luesday in August.
