McKenzie, I Minister for Mines, held a conference ! with the Miners’ Executive in the ! morning in regard to the State coal i mine strike. He offered to agree j to any award in existence at Granity, ' Seddonville or Denniston. The executive agreed to accept the ! Seddonville award, and a meeting of j miners was held at six o’clock to con- 1 aider the conditions. A very lively j meeting took place lasting till close j on eleven o’clock. The meeting insisted on certain alterations to the | Seddonville agreement, and the j Minister will consider the matter. j It is more than likely that aa * amicable settlement will be arrived at with the miners who have consent- ! ed to start work this morning.
