German Taxation.

CABLEGRAMS.

United Press Association. (By Electric Telegraph—Copyright)

£25,000,000 INCREASE. Berlin, November 20. Prince von Buelow has introduced a Bill to raise £25,000,000 additional taxation. He defended the increase in the navy owing to Germany’s rapid economic expansion, and said he believed Britain’s mistrust and antagonism will not be unconquerable. There was no immediate danger of war if coolness and calmness in the conduct of affairs was displayed at Home and abroad. Herr Sydow contended that Germany was well able to bear the proposed increase in the taxes on beer, spirits, and tobacco, which were"all much lower than in Britain.
