Unrest in India.

Calcutta, November 18. The Viceroy of India, Earl Minto, is interrupting his tour of the province of Oude, and is proceeding at once to Calcutta to discuss the situation with the Council of India. Several Babus have been arrested at Khulna and Naraingaj on charges of sedition. Materials for the manufacture of bombs were found in the residence of one of them. London, November 20.

Router's Lucknow correspondent reports that Lord Minto, in thanking the Taluhdars of Oude said they were unswerving in their devotion to the Crown, and declared that he did not share the opinion that the time was inopportune for the introduction of broader political principles. He did not believe the fanatical deeds of a few blackened the reputation of the whole people. Nevertheless, he recognised that the Goevrnment was face to face with an anarchical conspiracy and a menace to personal safety and public security. He would not hesitate to forge special weapons to eradicate an evil w'hich was undermining the welfare of the country.
