Rangiaohia Road Board.

The monthly meeting of the above board was held on Saturday last. There were present: Messrs T. Bond, chairman, R. Kay, W. Long, D. Cavanagh, G. McKinder and W. H. Mandeno, the board's supervisor. —Pickitt Hill.—

A petition was received signed by Messrs G. Paul, T. Holden, A. J. Bertram, W. Levet, M. Cunningham, J. J. Mandeno, and T. Walsh, drawing the board's attention to the bad state of this hill which they stated was the outlet from a large district of valuable land, paying a considerable sum in rates. The petitioners considered that the hill should be put in proper order and requested the board to take steps to have the same graded and metalled during the coming summer. Messrs Kay and Long supported the carrying out of the work, whilst the chairman, and Messrs Cavanagh and McKinder considered that there were other parts of the district far worse off than Pickitt's Hill. The Rargiaohia side said Mr McKinder was getting more than its share of money, whilst the chairman said it appeared as if they wanted every' copper the board had. To grade and metal this hill meant the expenditure of a considerable amount of the board's revenue. Some further discusson followed and the matter was allowed to drop. —Loan. — The question of a loan was brought up. Mr Mandeno stated that the Waipa County Council would be submitting a loan proposal to the ratepayers ir> the Rangiaohia Riding, and he did not think the ratepayers would agree to both loans. —RateOn the motion of the chairman it was resolved to make a general rate of id in the £ for the ensuing year. —Paul's Cutting.— Mr Kay reported on the shockingcondition of this cutting. The contractors had scooped the dam gutts out of the hill and thrown them into the hollow. The Supervisor and other members considered the work had been carried out satisfactorily. —Road Obstruction.— It was decided to notify Mr W. Alexander to remove the pine logs on the road adjoining his property. —Accounts. — The following accounts were passed for payment:—Waikato Argus, £2 12s 6d; C. Ward, £5 2s; J. Fox, £10; A.J. Dunn, 10s; Potts Bros., £4,
