WALTON.

A largely-attended meeting was held in the school on Monday. Mr B. West took the chair, and explained that the object was to form a lawn tennis club in Walton. All present put their names down as members, and the following officers were elected :—President, Mr J. Teague; vice-presidents, Messrs E. D. Murray, D. Campbell, G. Hutchinson and W. B. Ellery; secretary and treasurer, Mr E. West; committee, Misses Teague (3), Campbell (2), M. Hall, E. Ellery, Mesdames Teague and Bell, Messrs W. Bell, B. Teague, M. Cooney, R. Campbell, R. Hutchinson and S. Ellery. It was decided to have the courts and surroundings put in order as early as possible to allow the club to open the season on Saturday evening next.
