ST. STEPHEN'S, TAMAHERE.
The annu 1 meeting of parishioners was held on Wednesday evening, when the Vicar occupie i the chair. There was a fair attendance.
The receipts showed in round numbers —General offertories, £25 ; special offertories, £l3 ; annual subscriptions, £l3 ; proceeds of social evenings, £5 ; refund advance on cemetery account, £3 ; special collections, £9 ; total receipts (including balances) £6B The expenditure showed—Stipend (9 months) £23; Bishopric Endowment, £lB ; Maori Mission, £4 ; other missions, £1 ; care of oemettry grounds, £3 ; insurance, £3 ; prayer desk, £4; cutting down treeß, £7 ; sundries, £2 ; total expenditure, £65. The liabilities were £2l, towards which there were assets £l6
There was a falling-off of £6 in annual subscriptions, and t.f £4 in general offertories, but the special expenditure was large, namely, for extra parochial objects £23, and tor outting down trees £7, being nearly half the income for the year. The thanks of the parishioners were given to the lay readers and Sundry School teachers, the honorary verger (Mr Percy Ewen), the caretaker of the Church, aod all other active workers. Messrs C. Day and J. May were res appointed Wardens. Mr G. Way was nominated as agent for the cemetery trustees, and the following to serve on tho committeo :—Messrs Care, Way, and Cate, and Mesdames Way and H. Day and Miss Raynes. Mrs Way was subsequently appointed treasurer.—(Own Correspondent).
