It is enly a year or two ago since he was lying at death's door in the Waikato Hospital from the effects of a brutal attack made upon him in which he was badly stabbed with a knife, aud now we hear that he narrowly escaped being drowned on Thursday last. He was tryiug to make Te Awaroa from Kawhia in a small canoe, and the canoe was swamped three times. Twice he managed to bail the canoe out, but the third time he wub unable to do so.
