CROWN LANDS SALE.

NEARLY 6000 ACRES DISPOSED OF At the Auckland Lrown Lands Office on Thursday some 38 sections, comprising 7639 acres of first and secoud-class surveyed laud in the Orahira survey district, county of Kawhia, were offered for selection under the optional terms of the Land Ace, subject to tbe provisions of the Bush and Crown Lands Settlement Act ot last session. Mr Gerhard Mueller, Commissioner of Crown Lands, conducted the ballot. Thirty-two saotions, eomprisiug 5854 acres, were disposed of, and the remaining six sections will remain open for selection at the upset prices and rentals. The number of applications received was 261. the highest number received for a single section being 74.
