THREATENING SIR J. G. WARD.

MOOKE SENTENCED TO THREE YEARS. (BY TELEGRAPH—PRESS ASSOCIATION) Wellington, List Night. The case against Moore whs continued in the Supreme Court, before the Chief Justice, this morning. Dr. Collins, in answer to Mr Wilford, said Moore's letters were connectedly written, anfl gave every indication that the writer was perfectly sane. Accused, when medically examined, stated that he had lost a thousand pounds in the faithhealing business. Accused impressed witness with the idea that the object of the threatening letters was to get his report on the frozen meat trade published, and that he had no intention of carrying the threats into execution. Dr. J.tmes further described accused as an eccentric man, who probably became excited under circumstances an average man would consider trivial. He did not believe that Moore would harm anyone. Dr. leare, the gaol surgeon, said accused gave him to understand that he had been under tho influence of spiritualistic mediums, who had causing him to write the pamphlet ' God's Suggestions,' and had extracted sums from him. Later. Moore has been sentenced to ihree years' imprisonment, with hard labour, on the charge of threatening to kill the Acting-Premier.
