TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —We notice in your issue of tho sth inst., a letter signed " One of Them/' re the Sugar Beet Guarantees, raising certain objections to signing the recently posted agreement. Re manure, as to price, it is expressly stated that it will be at current rates, as to kind aud quality it is essential that this should be selected under expert supervision, being bought by the company in large quantities the quality is assured ; the price probably lower than the farmer could secure himself. As to being entirely in the hands of Mr Lcwenberg, -this will not be tho case, as on the contraiy, he will be iu the hands of the farmers, as advancing the seed and manure, which will only be paid for after delivery of the roots at the factory. We are working for a thorough success, and this can only be accomplished on the lines laid down in the recently poste'l agreements to the existing guarantors, and to this end we desire a hearty and all round support in the interests of the farmers themselves.—We are, Sir, Yours faithfully, The New Zealand Sugar Beet Syndicate, Nicol Lewenuerc, Chairman.
