FOOTBALL
THE ENGLISH TEAM. NOT TO VISIT NEW ZEALAND. (BY ELECTRIC TELEGRAPH. COPYRIGHT) Sydney, June 21. The Rugby Union has received a letter stating that owing to the time required Mr Mulleneaux, the promoter of the Australian tour, does not favour the extension of the tour to New Zealand. The extra time, he says, would probably prevent a fairly strong combination. The Secretary of the Union, in replying to this letter) suggested a programme of matches in New South Wales and Queensland covering eight weeks, from June to August. He stated that if he could manage an extra tour for another fortnight he might arrange matches in New Zealand. It is understood that the programme will include fixtures against all Australasia. This would probably require six or seven players from New Zealand. If the Ebglish team are unable to visit New Zealand the latter might possibly send extra men to Australia to secure the match against the visitors.
The following will represent Cambridge in the nuitch against Huntly, to be played at Hamilton, on Saturday : Full-back —E. Nickle ; three-quarters — R. Carnachan, J. Stewart and M. Anderson ; fi\e-eight—E. Armer ; half—W. McVeagh ; forwards E. Armer, h. Brockelsby, J. Carnachan, A. Jackson, Mackcreth, J. Montgomery, W. Care and J. Bailey; wings, J. Cowling and E. Brockelsby. Emergencies—J. Hjckey and M. Roberts. The coach will leave the National Hotel, Cambridge, punctually at 1 p.m., so it is necessary for all to be there in time if they wish to take part in the game. In the match with Cambridge on Saturday, Huntly will be represented by the followiug players:—Full back, W. Gleeson ; three-quarters, M. Gleeson, B. Housley and C. Lovell; five-eighths, J as. Clout; half, Gillespie; wines, Jno. Clout and C. Smith ; forwards, J. B Harris, Attrell (2), Hadden (2), T. Dunn and Peckham.
A close game is anticipated, and many favour the chances of the Cambridge team, but even after taking into consideration the fact that the team has been materially strengthened by the inclusion of Stewart, Carnachan land McVeagh among the back division, we cannot help picking Huntly to win.
In order that the members of both teams should have fair play from the spectators, we venture to suggest that the police authorities should prevent anyone, excepting the players, the referee and the line umpires, entering the enclosure, thus having clear touchlines on both sides of the field. This may, perhaps, be beyond their duties ; but it would certainly rrake things much more pleasant for players and onlookers alike.
The followiug will represent Kihikihi in a match against Otorohauga, at Kihikihi, on Saturday, 25th inst. : Fullback Laing ; threequarteers M. Gorrie, Brett and Paul ; five-eight—R. Gorrio ; half-back Webster ; wings - Short and Gardiner ; forwards—McDonald, Walker, MeGhie, Thomson, Harris, Kay and Corboy. Emergency, —Harris.

Ryburn ; five-eight—L. Macky ; half-back—VV. Scott ; wings—G. Allcock and A. Hall ; forwards—T. Allcock, H. May, Sing (2), F. Ryburn, N. Reid and J. Kay. Emergencies—Back, J. Karl ; forward, W. Germann. Play will commence at 3 p.m. sharp. Those interested arc reminded of the meeting of the Waikato Rugby Union, which will be held at the Royal Hotel at 8 p.m. on Saturday evening next. A meetirg of the Ohaupo Football Club was held in Mr Teddy's Hotel, on Monday evening. About fifteen members attended. Mr Hardwick was voted to the chair. A discussion ensued re the losing of the Club's ball (a new one), which it appears was lost when playing against the Huntly team at Hamilton, some two weeks ago. It certainty seems atrauge that it cannot be found, as a football is rather a big article to get lost on the field. After some further discussion, it was decided, as there were funds in hand, that the Secretary be authorised to procure a new one. Seven new members were proposed and accepted, which now makes the total strength thirtynine. Mr W. Park was elected eaptaiu and Mr J. Prince vice-captain. It wns proposed .and carried that the Secretary write to the Secretary of the Union, for permission to play the Hamilton 11. at Ohaupo, on Saturday next ; and also to make arrangements with the Secretary of the Hamilton 11,, to carry out the meeting. A Selection Committee was then elected, consisting of Messrs W, Park, Prince and Hardwick, and to meet every Monday evening, not later than seven o'clock. The following team was then selected to play the Hamilton 11. on Saturday. Full-back—Gillett ; three-quarters—Prince, Johnnie and VV. Park ; half-backs Tissimau, Colhoun and Johnson ; forwards—Turnwalds (2), Wilson, Cowper, Cowley, Chapman, Parks (2). Emergencies Bobby, S. Parks and G. Coggins. Some dissatisfaction was expressed at members not being punctual in attending matches when they promised to do so, sonic even absonting themselves altogether. A vote of thanks to the Chairman concluded the meeting.—(Own Correspondent).
