Kay acted as interpreter.—His Worship spoke with reference to the natives being supplied with drink while being drunk. Wajpa County Council Ratk (.'asks.— Mr Swarbriek, who appeared tor the Council, stated that he had taken out a number of summons for rates, but that owing to the absence of the clerk of the court, Const. Jones, who was attending, the Police Commission at Auckland, the constable in charge (Const. MeNama) had dealt informally with the summonses and under such circumstances to avoid auy informality, as almost all the defendants had paid, Mr Swarbriek suggested that the remaining summonses should be re-issued for the next court. His Woiship concurring, it was arranged accordingly. Hunter v. Prince —Mr Swarbriek appeared for the plaintiff. As the constable in charge had dealt informally with the summons, the case was adjourned for a month. A few other small debt cases were heard, in which Mr Gresham appeared for the plaintiffs. NGAKOTO DKAINAGE DISTRICT. At noon, the Magistrate, together with the appointed assessors, Messrs W. H. Mandeno and J. B. Teasdale, sat to hear objections to the ratepayers' list of the newly-constituted drainage district Mr Swarbriek appeared for the Returning Officer, As there were no objectors, the roll was duly signed by the Magistrate.
