(BY TBLBGBAPH--PRESS ASSOCIATION). Wellington, List Night. THE TUTANEKAI. Owing to the heavy southerly swell the Tutauekai was unable to finish the work on the cable, and has been filling in the time experimenting with fog signals at the Heads. Explosions were easily heard at Island Bay, some miles away, and those on the Tutanekai could distinguish them clearly eight miles off. SUPREME COURT. J.J. and E. Sickling were convicted at the Supreme Court of receiving a quantity of tools, etc., knowing them to be stolen. Sentence was deferred. (Jraig's case, which is the last ou the list, begins to-morrow. The criminal session owing to the adjournment and the holidays, has now been spun over nearly three weeks.
