THE LICENSING ELECTIONS.

In the Waikato District Mr Kirk has received nine nominations, viz : Mr TH. White (Taupiri), C. J. Storey and J. 15. Teasdale (le Awamutu), I. Coates, R. F. Sandrs and G. Edgecumbe (Hamilton), R. V. Smith (To Uktt), E. Fitzpatrick (Ngaruawahia). and J. P. Bailey (Huntly), The seven first-named occupied seats on the late Waipaand Waikato Committees. The poll will be held on Thursday next. (BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT). Tauranqa, Last Niuht. Eleven candidates are in the field for the licensing electi'm as follows : Robert Badger, Jas. Weir Gray, Chas. Jordou and Gerard Arnold Ward, four Tuuranga residents ; Jno. Cameron Gulbraith, of Te Puke ; Robt. King and Frauk Chapman, of Opotiki : Hemy Kirk, of Kotorua; Win. Phillip Chepmell, of Kiwitahi; and Jan. Shiner Bond and Nicholas Irwin Hunt, of Cambridge. Mr Samuels, of Tauranga, announced himself as a candidate, but was not nominated. The supplementary roll brings the total voters to 3105, about 800 Jess than were on the roll for the general election. , New Plymouth, Last Night. The following Licensing Committee was elected without contest, viz. : —W. Bailey, J. S. McKellar, J. Mace, E. Maxwell and W. L Newniap.
