SOUTH AUCKLAND RACING CLUB'S MBbTING. [By The Scamp]. Dnce again the annual meeting of the above club has come round, and there is no reason why it should not be as successful as it predecessors. Although the entries in one or two of the events are not very large, still the class of horses engaged is about on a level, and some good racing should therefore be witnessed. The weather at present is all that could be desired, and should it continue over to-day a large attendance of the public may be looked forward to. The course at pre.cnt is iu poor order, the indefatigable Secretary (Mr A. J. Storey) and his assistants having left no stone unturned to make this meeting a success, and 1 trust their efforts will be crowned with success. A special train will run from Auckland, and the first race is timed to start at 12.30 p.m. Below are my anticipations for the various events : Trial Handicap—Commodore Hurdles-Hairyleps Sooth Auckland Cup—Folly Pony Rack—Bob Steeplechase—Magpie Claudelands Handicap— Folly Flying Stakes -Snip The following horses were in Hamilton last night:—Bob, Snip, \Naiwera, The Needle, Folly, Sepoy, Warrigal, Arena, Merry Maid, Hairylecs, Marionette, Seafoam.
