OBITUARY.
MRS. M. B. TURNER. The many friends of Mrs* Margaret Buchanan Turner, of East Coast, will regret to hear of her which occurred at her residence yesterday afternoon. The late Mrs. Turner,, who was held in high respect by all who knew her, was born in Argyllshire, Scotland, in 1849 and would! have been Bt> years of age on January 1. She was a daughter of the late James and! Christina Clark, of Inverveggan, Scotland and came to New Zealand in 1885 with her husband, Mr; A. C. Turner, landing in Wellington-. Ever since she had lived in the Wairarapa district, for varying periods at Akitio, Maungahina, Te Purupuru and for the last fifteen years at Benmore. She is survived by her husband and two daughters, Mrs. C. S. Hay, of Benmore and Mrs. A. E. Brittain, of Newman, Eketahuna and was a cousin of the late Sir Walter Buchanan. The sympathy of a large circle of friends will be extended to the bereaved relatives in their great loss. The funeral wiTl’ take place to-mor-row, leaving Knox Church, following a service at II a.m., for the Masterton Cemetery. MRS. JOHANN JACKSON. The death occurred on Christinas Eve of Mrs. Johann Jackson, of Pine Street, Masterton, at the age of 63 years. The late Mrs. Jackson, who had been in indifferent health for the past year, was well-known and highly respected. She is survived by her husband, Mr. Hugh Jackson, one son, Mr. A. Jackson, of Pahiatua and two daughters, Mesdames R, Evans and R. Pearce, both of Masterton, to whom the sympathy of a large number of friends will be extended. The funeral took place on Sunday afternoon, the interment being a private one. MRS. GEORGINA LEE. The death occurred at Wellington on Christmas Day of Mrs. Georgina Lee, of Charles Street, Carterton, a respected and esteemed resident of the 'district. Mrs. Lee, who was 76 yean! tif age, was the widow of the late Mr. Phillip Lee, who died some years ago. Mrs. Lee was a very prominent worker during the Great W. T in making balaclava caps and various other comforts for soldiers. She was also connected with the Red Cross Society during that period. The funeral took place at Carterton yesterday afternoon, a number of old settlers attending. Many beautiful floral tributes were received from sympathisers. The funeral service was conducted by the Rev. H. White, of Carterton.
