PLANS AND ACTIVITIES. j MEETING OF DIRECTORS. Mr. H. M. Peacock, president, pre-, sided at the regular monthly meeting of the Y.M.C.A. Board of Directors. The general secretary’s report for November was presented and received favourable comment. There had been a distinct improvement on the figures for 1936. The report stated that the Week of Prayer activities had been quite up to previous standards and good meetings had been held. The junior department’s programme had been planned in view of the warmer weather and the largest tramp for years had taken place bn a recent Sat-, urday. A paper chase was organised for another group of boys and the results were quite good. Over seventy boys attended a lecture on temperance by Mr. W. F. Stock, of Wellington. The lecture, which was illustrated was preceded by a period of games in the gymnasium. Boys were found for two farm positions in November and five temporary gardening jobs were filled. These included a very keen group of seniors who were aiming to keep going : throughout the summer and thus remain in practice.
