OBITUARY.
MR. DOUGLAS GROVES. The many friends of Mr. Douglas Groves will learn with deep regret of his death, which occurred yesterday at the Mastertoil Hospital,. The late Mr. Groves, who was 35 ye |rs of age, had been in ill-health for some time. He was the third son of Mr. and Mrs. F. W. Groves, Opaki Road, Masterton, well-known early settlers of the district. He was bom in Masterton and educated at the Whakataki and. Pahiatua schools. The late Mr. Groves, who wtu_ well and favourably known in Masterton, was in his day a capable footballer and a prominent athlete. He was a farmer by occupation and had. worked in various pasts of the district. He is survived by a widow (a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. T. Bullock), an infant daughter, his parents •and. two brothers, Messrs W. F. Groves (Waipukurau) and D. V. Groves (Masterton), to whom the sincere sympathy of a wide circle of friends will be extended in their sad bereavement. The funeral will take place to-day, leaving Mr G. Hyde’s Chapel, Church Street, at 3 ,p.m. for the Masterton Cemetery.
