YOUNG PEOPLE’S

The young people of the Salvation Army Sunday School held: their anniversary yesterday. Splendid congregations attended each' meeting and in the morning and at each, succeeding meeting the children and their teachers occupied th© platform. United songs, recitations and a Bible dialogue were given in the morning. Lieutenant-Colonel Seotney told a story about the storm.' bird, thus describing the safety and security of the soul that makes God! its refuge. The platform presented a picture in the afternoon when some seventy children and teachers were' seated. In addition to a delightful programme presented by the primary department about £5 worth of prizes were handed out to a radiant crowd of scholars. One hundred and fifty were present in the afternoon. The night meeting was equally well attended. . The children again occupied the platform and were heard in company songs, recitations and a dialogue portraying the action of Judas in betraying Jesus Christ for thirty pieces of silver. Mrs. Seotney told the story of the “Three Wise Men,” bringing out some good lessons on the wisdom of following the guiding star. Colonel Seotney spoke on the value of freedom and the song of gladness that rose from the soul that was in harmony with its maker’s will. Mrs. Fairbrother, the Young People’s SergeantMajor, and her willing band of helpers have reason to be proud of the items rendered during the day. About £5 9s was contributed in the offerings during the day.

A jrplendid programme has been arranged for to-night and patrons can be assured of an evening of enjoyment and profit. The programme will conclude with a splendid portrayal of scenes from the life of a Salvation Army officer in India. In this programme are included songs, recitations, dialogues, club swinging, items by girls and the boys. There is a treat for all who attend. < -•
