PERSONAL.
At yesterday’s meeting of the Wairarapa Hospital Board, Miss C. R Shepherd, of Hamilton, was appointed to the position of dispenser at the Masterton Hospital.
A large number of settlers from various parts of the district attended the funeral yesterday afternoon of the late Mrs. A. Rayner. Many beautiful wreaths were sent by sympathisers and the Rev. David McNeur conducted a service at the house and also at the cemetery. Messrs N. Rayner, E. N. Perrin, H. Rayner, C. Cotton, E. Rayner and R. Byford acted as pall-bear-ers.
Feeling reference to the death of the late Mrs. W. H. Jackson was made by the chairman, Mr H. H. Mawley, at yesterday meeting of the Wairarapa Hospital Board. Mrs. Jackson, he said, had been a member of the board from 1923 to 1935 and during her term in office she did useful work 'in a quiet way, particularly with reference to welfare work. It was decided to forward a letter of condolence -to Mr. Jackson in his bereavement.
