SKETCH CLUB EXHIBITION.

OFFICIAL OPENING YESTERDAY. There was a record attendance at the opening of the Masterton Sketch Club’s annual exhibition in the Country Women's Club rooms yesterday afternoon. Lady Perry declared the exhibition open. Many beautiful pictures are on display and the qxhibition is regarded as one of the best ever held by the club. A feature is the work of many of the younger members, on view for the first time. Altogether there are nearly 200 pictures, including a good selection of water-colours, besides two small tapestries and a table of craft work. The flower studies and landscapes are of considerable interest. The exhibition will be open to-day from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Yesterday the visitors were entertained at afternoon tea.
