(A London cable on August 2'7 stated that two Aucklanders on holiday, Mr. and Mrs. George Runeiman, 1 told a London taxi-driver to drive; round the town. A week later they! were gathering seashells at John o T Groats, and the taximeter, it was stated, was still ticking while Scots gazed in amazement. Mr. Runciman, after touring England by *taxi, decided to see John o’ Groats, whence his grandmother emigrated. The travellers covered a thousand miles. The taxi-driver admitted that he was homesick).
