Conly spoke of the excellent work Mrs Maunsell had done in furthering the objects of the league. Mrs. Maunsell had been a great inspiration to the mothers and had been president of the Masterton League since it was formed in 1929. The League Choi® gave several items which were very much appreciated. The speaker of the day was Mrs. E. 0. Blamyes,; of Wellington, and formerly bf' Masterton, and one of the original members of the Masterton League. Mrs. 'Blamires, who took for her subject, “Vocational Guidance,” began by saying liow pleased she was to be amongst all her old friends again. Speaking of the excellent lectures she had attended during the Educational Conference in Wellington, Mrs. Blamires urged her hearers to do all in their power to study the bent of their children and to encourage them lr their ideas. Mrs. Blamires was listened to with much interest and on concluding was accorded a hearty vote r of thanks.

The tea hostesses were Mesdames N. H. Prior, A. Stubbings, J. Mitchell, L. Hunter, E. Moss and Miss M. Robieson. The annual report stated that the membership was now 228. Twenty-five new members joined during the year. Attendances throughout the year had been consistently good. The League Choir continued to play a most acceptable and helpful part, its items adding greatly to the interest and enjoyment of meetings. Thanks were expressed to the- St. Matthew’s Vestry for the free use of the Parish Hall, to Mr. L. B. Maunsell for the free use of the Arcade Hall, to the Misses Stubbings and Masters for kindly taking care of the children during the meetings, to the speakers and others whose interesting addresses and other programmes had been so informative, stimulating and enjoyable, to the Press, to Mr. J. J. Hunter, of the Masterton Printing Company, for his generous help, and to the members who had so willingly provided the afternoon teas. The third annual report of the League Choir recorded a membership of about twenty. Regret was expressed at the death of Mrs. A. Dickason, one of the choir’s first members. The choir had given, items at nearly every meeting of the league and had supplied the programme at the farewell to Miss Spellman and at Knox Guild. A concert was also given at the Buchanan Home and at the hospital. All members and helpers were thanked for their assistance.
