WOMEN’S INSTITUTE.
KAITUNA-FERNRIDGE MEETING. Mrs. Keir presided over a good atendance at the monthly meeting of the Kaituna-Fernridge Women’s Institutc, held last Friday. Two very interesting demonstrations were given, ItaL 'an quilting by Mrs. Mannell and the making of flowers out of wood pulp by, Mesdames Laing and Dagg. The competitions for the afternoon resulted as follow:— Seniors: Sponge cake, Mra. Pnugl. 1 Mrs. Taylforth 2; juniors, Marshmallow Pavlova, Miss L. Shaw 1 Miss B. Pain 2. Afternoon tea was served by the hostesses Mesdames Shaw, Pringle and Welch. The Kaituna Hall was crowded last Tuesday night when the junior members of the Kaituna-Fernridge Women s Institute held a most successful dance. Excellent music was provided by Udy’s Orchestra. A tap dance ballet was given by seven members of the junior division of the institute, trained by Miss B. Holmwood with Miss L Taylor as leader. The lucky Gay Gordons was won by Miss J. Laing and Mr. B. Reid.
