TE WHARAU. (“The Age’’ Special.) The second round of the Te Wharau Golf Club’s championship was played on Saturday, the results being.—Men: E. Nitz beat S. Gray; J. Bannister beat P. Kummer; W. Kummer won from R. McKinstry, and I. McGregor won by default Ladies: Miss Vennell beat Mrs Schofield; Miss Taylor beat Mra Nitz; Miss M. Taylor beat Miss Lucas; and Mrs Foreman beat Mrs McKinstry. The semi-finals will be played oyer the week-end. The following is the draw: E. Nitz v. I. McGregor; and W. 'Kummer v. J. Bannister. Ladies: Miss Taylor v. Miss M. Taylor and Mra Foreman v. Miss Vennell.
The following is the draw for the handicap cup contest.—Men: Gray v t Foreman (Nimmo Cup); R. McKinstry v. F. Cotter; H. Paku v. A. McGregor; C. Schofield v. N. Kummer; R. Vennell v. P. Kummer; F. McKinstry v. K. Ellis; R. Bannister v. scorer. Ladies: Mrs Schofield v. Mra J. Bannister; Mrs Read v. Mra R. Bannister; Mra McKinstry v. Miss Lucas; Mrs P. Kummer v. Mrs A. McGregor; Mra Nitz v. scorer. The Homewood club played an interclub match at Te Wharau during the week-end, the local side proving the winners by 16 games to 5, 3 games being all square. Women's Division Dance. A final reminder is given to all who wish to attend the dance in the local hall on Saturday evening. The object of the dance is to raise funds so that a grant may be made to the Masterton branch of the Women’s Division to augment the funds of the housekeepers scheme of that branch.
