OBITUARY.
SIR PERCIVAL CLARKE. RUGBY, October 5. Sir Percival Clarke, chairman of the London Sessions, died suddenly this evening at the age of 64 years.—'(British Official Wireless). (Sir Percival Clarke, chairman of the County of London Sessions since 1932, and a Bencher of Lincoln’s Inn since 1925, was born in 1872 and was the eldest son of the Rt. Hon. Sir Edward Clarke, K.C. He married in 1904 Miss Norma Whalley, daughter of Dr. Octavius Whalley, of Sydney, New South Wales. He was educated at Eton and at Cambridge University, and was called to the Bar at Lincoln’s Inn in 1894. At one time he was senior counsel for the Crown in the Central Criminal Court, and in the Great War he served as a lieutenant of the R.N.V.R. He published a book on extradition, and was knighted in 1931).
