CARRINGTON PARK CLUB ANNUAL MEETING.
(“The Age” Special.)
The annual meeting of the Carrington Park Tennis Club was held in Carterton last night, the president, Mr. R. Fisher, occupying the chair. It was stated that the past season had been most successful both financially and otherwise, the B team being runner-up in the Wairarapa Association’s competition. The election of officers resulted as follows:—Patron, Mr. D. L. Taverner; president, Mr. W. Vaughan; vice-presi-dents, Messrs P. A. Cole, E. Hawker, W. Sorenson, J. Laurence, J. Udy; secretary, Mr. K. Nix; general committee, Messrs H. Parker, C. Jensen, F* Hill, R. Hawker, P. Smith; ladies’ committee, Misses E. Bedford, N. Nichols, M. Pauling, Z. Workman. Six new members were elected. The subscriptions were fixed at 25s for ladies and 30s for men, reducible by 5s if paid by November 30. The ball levy was fixed at 5s per member. It was decided to open the season on October 24. TINUI CLUB. OPENING NEXT SATURDAY. There was a good attendance of members at the annual meeting of the Tinui Tennis Club, held last Saturday. The hope was expressed that the season would see an increased membership. It was decided to open the courts next Saturday. The following officers were elected: —President Mr. E. R. Maunsell; hon. secretary, Mr. F. H. Bennett; compiittee, Messrs R. Atkinson, F. Baftfiolomew, T. Langdon; club captain, Mr. F. Bartholomew; delegate to Wairarapa Lawn Tennis Association, Mr. E. R. Maunsell; auditor, Mr. W. P. Laing. Subscriptions were fixed at men, £1 ss, ladies 15s.
