Miss Jean Batten has arrived at Lympne in readiness for her flight to New Zealand. “I want to start this morning,” she said, “but the weather forecast, shows that Jhe barometer is falling heavily in Southern Europe, and 1 shall have another report at 3 a.m. 1 intend to make the first stop at Marseilles, where 1 shall take on a full load of petrol—--155 gallons. 1 hope to halve my Australian record. “I shall wear by lucky New Zealand flag as a muffler, as I have done in all my flights.”
