BUILDING SOCIETY.
MEETING OF WAIRARAPA TERMINATING. , A meeting of shareholders of the Wairarapa Terminating Building Society, No. 2 Group, was held on Wednesday evening, when an appropriation of £6OO was offered by sale. The successful tenderer was Mr. A. C. Knutson, of Carterton, with a tender of £175. The directors met afterwards and decided to hold an appropriation by ballot at Carterton in six weeks’ time for £6OO. The quarterly ballot for profits in No. 1 group was held over, £4OO being available for distribution. Included in those successful were a number of Masterton shareholders. The group is now 1 fast reaching its winding-up stage, and when it terminates well over £3OOO will have been paid out in profits to shareholders—a very excellent result, and an example of the success of the building society movement in advancing money to shareholders to build their own homes.
