ABORTIVE POLICE QUEST IN MELBOURNE. CITY CORONER’S VERDICT. (Received Tuesday, 11.0 p.m ) MELBOURNE, July 7. After five tenths ’ investigation by the police witJßut tracing the murderers, the City to-day held an inquiry into the circumstances surrounding the death of James Scriven, a Government messenger aged 64, who was ® ,° t holdu P men outside the Titles Office on January 31. The coroner returned a verdict that Scriven was murdered by persons unknown.
