WOMEN’S INSTITUTE.

MEETING AT OPAKI. The president, Mrs Wingate, was in the chair at the monthly meeting of the Opaki Women’s Institute, held at her residence. The attendance was very good and a most enjoyable afternoon was spent by those present. A vivid and extremely interesting travel talk was given by Mrs Max Cleghorn, who spoke on “Travelling in Germany.” This was thoroughly appreciated by the members, who accorded Mrs Cleghorn a hearty vote of thanks.

The monthly competition was for darning linen. This was judged by Mrs Cleghorn, and resulted: Mrs F. Miller 1, Mrs Rayner 2, Mrs Weston, 3. The roll call was “My Happiest Moment.” The replies to this were widely varied, some causing a great deal of amusement. Afternoon, tea was served by the hostesses, Mrs N. Wyeth and Misses W. Rolls, and J. Wyeth.
