AGREEMENT IN SAMOA.

POLITICAL PARTIES TO WORK FOR UNITY. RESTORATION OF SALARY CUTS. -SETTLEMENT & OTHER PROPOSALS. (Special to the Press Assn.) (Received Wednesday, 8.0 p.m.) APIA, June 30. Full details of the deliberations which took place on the previous day at Vaimoso between the Mau and the goodwill delegates were given by the Hon. SF. Langstone before a large combined gathering of Samoans at Mulinuu, the ’Government headquarters to-day. The leaders of both political sections affirmed their determination to work, together for a united Samoa. The Minister announced the full restoration of hits in the salaries of native and European officials as from July and agreed to the setting up of a committee of Samoans to confer with the administrative heads on all matters relating to finance and taxation. A promise was given that questions of public interest affecting the administration of the mandate would be published locally from time to time in the Samoan language. The Minister said a scheme to develop and make available about two thousand acres of Crown lands for natives and Samoan-born citizens who required holdings was now under consideration. The Samoans are responding splendidly to the spirit of the goodwill mission and the delegates are gratified with the results achieved since their arrival a week ago to-day.-(Another message relating to the mission to Samoa appears on page 6.)
