The engagement is announced of Miss Iris May Woodbury, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. Woodbury, of Carterton, to Mr. Norris (Morrie) Trass, youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. 8. Trass, Mt. Bruce, Masterton.
The engagement is announced, of Millicent Kate, younger daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Ticehurst, of “Flaxlands,” Carterton, to Mr. Ivan Allan McDonald, of Masterton, eldest son of Mrs. J. Ellison, of Matahiwi. A Gisborne Press Association telegram reports the death at Tolaga Bay yesterday of Mr. Edward Brabazon Boland, a well-known settler of the East Coast. He took a prominent part in local bodies. He was president of the Tolaga Bay Jockey Club and was a well-known racehorse owner.
1 The death took place in the Greytown Hospital on Sunday afternoon of Mr. John Cross, a well known and popular resident of Carterton for the past' few years, and formerly of Featherston. The late Mr. Cross had been iiling for many months past, and shortly after carrying out his duties as Clerk of Seales at the Wairarapa Racing Club’s Easter meeting, found it necessary to enter the Greytown Hospital. His death will be deeply regretted by a large circle of friends.
i The many friends of Mrs. M. Flanagan, formerly of Masterton, will regret to learn of her death, which occurred at Christchurch on Saturday, 'the late Mry. Flanagan is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Freebury, Christchurch, and a son, Mr. Muir Flanagan, Wellington, She was the widow of Mr. E. Flanagan, a former member of the Mastertqn Borough Council and of various other local bodies and during her residence in Masterton was associated With many local institutions.
