Mr. Carl Ariperding, an evangelist, of California, will speak at the Mission Hall, Bannister Street, to-morrow night at 7 o’clock, and on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at 7.30. The body of Archibald McLean, of Kingston, a married shepherd aged 03, who had been missing since May 1, was found in Lake Wakatipu, near his ■own home, yesterday morning.—*(P.A.) Members of ; the Wairarapa High School Old Girls.' and Old Boys' associations and their friends are invited to a flag bridge evening which is to be held at School / House on Tuesday, starting at 8 o'clock. The Friendly Societies’ card tournament was continued on Thursday evening with the following results:— Hibernians beat Foresters, 15/13; Oddfellows B beat Oddfellows A, 13/10; Druids beat Waipoua, 16/14. The draw for next week ’is:—Oddfellows A v. Foresters; Waipoua v. Hibernians; Druids v. Oddfellows B.
In addition to a full muster of representatives of Young Farmers’ clubs in the Wairarapa, some twenty members of clubs in other parts of the North Island ~will be attending the Young Farmers' Week at the Solway Showgrounds from June 8 to June 13.
