ORCHESTRAL CONCERT.

TO-MORROW'S BIG ATTRACTION.

A first-class musical evening is promised at the Municipal Hall tomorrow night, when the Masterton Orchestral Society will present its first concert of the season. The opening number will be the overture “The Barber of Seville” by Rossini. This story has been made use of by many composers as a. theme for opera but Rossini’s music alone has survived. The overture is still a favourite with orchestras and the public alike. Other orchestral items are “The Whispering of the Flowers,” (von Bion), “Amorettentanz” (GungH), “Mauzurka in B flat (Chopin-Dimsa), “The Lark ” Ballet Egyptian” (Luigini), “Macbeth ’ (Johnson) and “Countess Mantza” (Kalman). Mr. Russell J. Laurenson will sing “The Song of the Volga Boatmen” and “Edward.”
