ALL ROUND INCREASE REPORTED. CHRISTCHURCH, February 12. Values in most sections at Addington to-day were higher. Store lambs time forward in smaller numbers and better quality. The improvement in feed prospects following the rain helped the market and values recovered to the full the drop of 1/ last week. Best ewes sold at 19/, and best mixed sex to 17/. Store sheep: The entry was heavy, but generally unattractive. Ewes of all descriptions were in keen demand and sold at higher prices. Two-tooth Corriedale and Romney ewes made to 32/, sound-mouth to 23/, aged, to 17/. Fat lambs: A smaller entry. Competition was very keen among exporters and butchers and prices were higher, top price being 32/10. Extra prime made to 32/10; prime, 26/ to 28/6; me-dium-weight, 23/ to 26/6; others, 18/ to 22/6. Fat sheep: The entry was smaller and the quality medium. There was a keen demand and prices were 1/6 higher. Extra prime wethers made to 31/7; prime, 25/ to 26/6; medium, 22/6 to 24/6; others, to 22/; extra prime ewes, to 29/10; prime, 19/6 to 22/6; medium, 16/3 to 18/6; others, to 15/6. Fat cattle: The entry was a little smaller, but the quality was better. Best beef was scarce and in good demand at an advance of £l. Best beef made 25/6 to 27/6 per 1001 b.; extra, 29/; good, 23/ to 25/; ordinary, 18/ to 21/6; rough down to 15/6; extra prime heavy steers, made to £ll/7/6; prime, £9/5/ to £11; medium, £7/10/ to £9/5/; others, to £7; extra prime heifers, to £9/12/6; prime, £6 to £7; others, to £5 15/; extra prime cows, to £9/2/6; prime, £4/10/ to £6; others, to £4/5/. There was a shorter entry of veal and values were fully maintained. A moderate entry of store cattle resulted in values being 10/ a head better. There was a keen demand for dairy cattle and values were higher by £l. Pigs were in good demand. Baconers averaged 4d to 5d and porkers 5Jd to 6Jd a lb.—(P.A.)
