INGLORIOUS DRAW.
M.C.C. AND RANGITIKEI. MARTON, February 1. With a wicket down, rain this afternoon stopped play and gave Rangitikei an inglorious draw against M.C.C. . No further play was possible after the 2.40 p.m. adjournment. In an interesting comment by Lyttelton on Baxter's bowling of yesterday, Lyttelton said he would have gone through any English county side for 100. Details:— M.C.C. second innings: Read, b Williams 5; Baxter, c H. Marshall b. Hodder 0; Mitchell-Innes, not out 104; Powell, c Lowry b Whittle 45; Lyttelton, c Whittle b Williams 24; Human, not out 5; extras, 3; total, 186 (declared). Bowling analysis: Hodder 1/29, Parkinson 0/64r; Marshall 0/18; Williams 2/45: Whittle 1/27. Rangitikei, second innings: Wysocki, not out 9; J. Marshall, b Baxter 4; extras, 5; total, 18.—(P.A.)
