HAWKE'S BAY CONTESTS. DANNEVERKE, January 20. The winners of the finals in the Hawke’s Bay tennis championships, which concluded at the week-end, were as follow:—Men’s Singles: J. C. Charters beat J. W. Gunn, 6/1, 6/0. Ladies’ Singles: Mrs. R. Swann beat Mrs Mawson, 6/3, 6/2. Boys’ Singles: 8. Hooper beat R. 8. Slater, 6/1, 6/1. Girls’ Singles: Miss J, Bottrell beat Miss K. Pears, 6/4, 7/5. Men’s Doubles: J. CCharters and E. A. Pearce beat F. M. B. Fisher and J. N. Lowry, 4/6, 6/3, 6/3. ladies’ Doubles: Miss E. Plummer and Mrs. Swann beat Mrs. Mawson and Miss Bradley, 6/2, 6/3. Combined Doubles: McCarthy and Miss Whisker beat Madden and Mrs. Mawson, 2/6, 6/3, 6/4.—(P.A.)
