MURDER CHARGE.
EVIDENCE FOR THE CROWN. DEATH 6f MRS MAREO. AIWLAND, October 2. The hearing of the charge against Eric Mareo, aged 41,. a musician, of murdeting -his wife, Thelma Clarice Mareo, on" April 15, was continued inthe Magistrate’s Court to-(lay, before Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M. Several witnesses'were heard, including a Government analyst who found fourteen grains of veronal in the organs and on a sheet and mattress. Dr. Walter‘Gilmour, pathologist, who conducted a post-mortem examination, detailed his findings and further medical evidence supported.his. opinion that the cause of death was veronal poisoning. The police produced a lengthy statement made by the accused. The hearing was adjourned.—'(P.A.) ■
