LADY GOLFERS.
RECORD GATHERING AT RIVERSIDE.
Yesterday afternoon there was a record gathering of lady golfers at the Riverside links, the occasion being an Open afternoon. One hundred and eleven ladies from every club in the Wairarapa and several from even further afield were present, and a most successful afternoon was spent in ideal playing conditions. The course itself was in good order, but the grass in the fairways was pn the long side. The greens played fast and true. The large field of players was despatched from the starting tees in good time, and the starter (Mr. E. Perry) deserves great credit fer his work. The visitors were the guests of the Riverside ladies at afternoon tea.
On behalf of the visitors, Mrs. Ward (Greytown) thanked the Riverside dub for the outing it had given them. Mrs. M. A. Rawlins (ladies’ captain) responded. The trophies were won by the following:—Seniors (best net score), Mrs. A. J. Drew (Masterton Club). Juniorti (best net seore), Mrs. L. Gray (Riverside Club). Unearned handicap (best net score), Mrs. L. Donald (Bideford).
