PERSONAL

The friends of Mr. D. L. Hatton, of Carterton, will regret to learn that he is a patient in the Masterton Hospital.

Mr. W. A. Todd, manager of the local branch of the Bank of New Zealand, will leave next week on a motoring tour of the North Island. He will be away for about six weeks. During that time Mr. 8. T. Uren, relieving manager from the Bank's Head Office, will be in charge of the Masterton branch.

The death of Mrs. Alice Amelia Harper, wife of Mr. Edward Harper, which occurred suddenly at her residence, 118 Lincoln Road, Masterton, yesterday morning will be regretted by many friends. The late Mrs. Harper had lived in Masterton for many years, and was highly respected by all who knew her. She is survived by her husband and grown-up family, to whom much sympathy will be extended in their bereavement. The funeral is to leave the residence, Lincoln Road, at 3 p.m. to-day for the Masterton Cemetery.
