TOURNAMENT AT CARTERTON. KEEN CONTESTS PROMISED. Indications point to the amateur tourney to be held in the King's Theatre, Carterton, on Monday night by the Carterton Boxing Club, proving a great success. A most attractive programme of bouts has been arranged. The star bout of the night should be a six rounder between T. Carroll, Masterton, and J. Taplin, Carterton. Carroll gave a fine exhibition against Cadwallader at Masterton this week while his opponent is reported to be in firstclass fettle. In addition to the boxing bouts three wrestling bouts will be included on the programme, the matchings being, Carlyon v. Simmonds; Price v. Reid; Benton v. Wenden. No efforts are being spared by the energetic committee of the club to ensure the success of the tourney and keen and spirited contests should be the order.
