INDIAN HOCKEY TEAM.
VISIT TO NEW ZEALAND & AUSTRALIA. CHANGE IN CAPTAINCY. (Received Friday, 7.0 p.m.) DELHI, April 12. The Indian hockey team for New Zealand and Australia leaves to-morrow without the Nawab of Manayadar, its captain, who is one of the few ruling princes playing first-class hockey. The team is not India’s best, but is stronger than the Indian Army team which visited the Dominion in 1926. Dhyan Chand, a clever centre forward, is now captain of the side.
