MORE CONTESTS.

MUNICIPAL AND COUNTY ELECTIONS. A contest is now in prospect at the forthcoming local body polls for the election of two Masterton borough representatives on the Wairarapa Power Board, as Mr. Alex Donald, of Kopuaranga yesterday intimated, in response to representations made to him by a number of business people that he would be a candidate. Both the retiring members have been nominated for a further term, the nomination of Mr H. P. Hugo being handed in yesterday and that of Mr. R. J. King several days ago. Mr. Hugo’s nominators were Messrs G. W. Sellar and J. V.- Gordon. Another candidate for the Masterton Borough Council is Mr. F. A. Lambourn, who has definitely decided to stand. This makes five new candidates in the field.

The retiring member of the Upper Taueru Riding of the Masterton County Council, Councillor J. W. A. Falloon, who is seeking re-election will be opposed by Mr. J. H. F. Foreman, who is announced as a candidate for that riding.
