GOLF.
RIVERSIDE CLUB ANNUAL MEETING. INCREASE IN MEMBERSHIP. The annual meeting of the Riverside Golf Club held last night was very largely attended by members and intending members. Considerable enthusiasm was displayed and it was stated that with the links brought up to eighteen holes, and with the addition of 42 new members, indications for the coming season appeared perticniarly bright. Mr. W. J. Bew occupied the chair.
The election of officers for the ensuing year resulted as follow:—Pteeident, (Mr. W. J. Rew; vice-president, Mr. F. Shearer; committee, Messrs J. Beresford, B. Braggins, W. J. Palamontain, W. C. Batty, L. J. Mark, A. Grant, and F. Wells; captain, Mr. E. Einam; vice-captain, Mr. J. Beresford; hon. auditor, Mr. J. Beresford; hon. secretary, Mr. H. Keisenberg; social committee, Mesdames Clarkson, Palamontain, Grove, Emery, and Messrs McLaughlin and Candy. A recommendation passed that the financial year end on December 31 and the annual meeting be held about a inonth later.
At a subsequent meeting of the committee it was decided to open, the links for the season on April 13.
