WRIGHT STEPHENSON & CO., LTD. Messrs Wright Stephenson and Co., Ltd., report:—We held our supplementary ewe fair at Masterton yesterday, when a big yarding came forward. In addition to ewes, a large number of “wethers and lambs were offered. The heavy entry attracted a good attendance and buyers were present from the West Coast. Local buyers, however, were out to fill their requirements and bid freely and took a big portion of the yarding. The standard of ewes offered was particularly good and far better than last week’s entry. Young ewes were slightly firmer but this class of ewe looks good buying to-day when compared with prices being paid for older ewes. We offered consignments on account of several well known farmers in the district and prices were well above expectations. Wethers were in keen demand and Lambs made good values. Our yarding comprised 5,882 sheep in all and only one pen of ewes and one of lambs were turned out unsold. Following are realisations:—
